DCCPF Announces Grant Award
July 19, 2009
The Davis County Courthouse Preservation Fund has been awarded a Historic Resource Development Program Emergency Funds Grant from the Iowa State Historical Society. The grant application was completed after the June 7 hailstorm, which caused severe damage to the west façade of the courthouse. The amount of the award is $15,000, the maximum award for this grant program. The Fund will receive a check for one-half of the award by mid August, and the rest upon completion of the project.
At this time, persons wishing to contribute to the welfare of the courthouse should do so, since the funds are needed to repair damage to the building not covered by insurance.
Anyone who wishes to donate on line can go to the DCCPF website and click on the "donate" button. Please click on "add instructions to seller", and type "storm damage" into the window during the payment process.
The Davis County Courthouse Preservation Fund is a 501(c)3 organization legally recognized by the IRS, and will be happy to provide necessary information to anyone who wishes to qualify for matching funds from their company.
